American Roots _ Bebop.
Jazz has to be one of my favorite forms of music, no matter what time in my life. As a member of the jazz band, I performed at concerts and for judges while in high school. It was our teacher's custom to play a documentary series about jazz's origins and how it influenced and was influenced by American history during each class. I also grew up listening to many different types of jazz. I started playing the trumpet when I was nine and always took a lot of inspiration from jazz artists. Between the catchy rhythm and the improvisation, jazz has a conic sound that I can't get enough of. However, jazz is not a specific song or sound; jazz is a conglomerate of different styles of music, and that means that there are many kinds of jazz.
